SWIFT code is a standard format of a bank’s Identifier Code (BIC) and it can be used for bank identification with a specific code for a particular bank anywhere in the world. SWIFT codes play a vital role in the transfer of funds between banks and are used, especially for international wire transfers. Banks also use codes to exchange messages between them.
